There are certain times of winter this property will be hard to get to as it does get quite a bit of snow in the winter time. Balleroy Rd is a main road leading to the higher elevations and plowing is not always done at this elevation, just an Fyi. There are several people that live above 10K feet.
I have an off grid cabin in the area and can answer any questions you have pertaining to the Costilla County requirements for building. Camping is allowed 14 days every 90, longer with an installed septic and 600 square foot minimum dwelling if you choose to build. Water can be via a well or you can haul your water.
Hunting is allowed on the property! This is in Unit 83 for Southern Colorado and has a huge elk population. There is 2200 acres of public hunting land about 3/4 of a mile from the property.
